Use the Quick Drop Configuration dialog box to specify a shortcut that represents an object. You can assign a shortcut name to an object so that you do not have to enter the entire name of the object in the Quick Drop dialog box.
Complete the following steps to configure shortcuts for the Quick Drop dialog box.
Note You cannot assign shortcuts to LabVIEW project items using the Quick Drop Configuration dialog box. |
Note You cannot use modifier keys, such as the <Ctrl> and <Shift> keys, to create shortcuts for the Quick Drop dialog box. |
To use the shortcuts you assigned, press the <Ctrl–Space> keys or select View»Quick Drop to display the Quick Drop dialog box. On Chinese keyboards, press the <Ctrl–Shift–Space> keys. (macOS) Press the <Command–Shift–Space> keys. (Linux) Press the <Alt–Space> keys. Enter a shortcut that you assigned to an object. The shortcut and the name of the object, in parentheses, appear in the text box. For example, if you assigned the shortcut cs to a Case structure, enter cs in the text box. The text box displays cs (Case Structure). Click the block diagram to place the Case structure on the block diagram.
Note If you want to transfer the shortcuts you configured for the Quick Drop dialog box to another installation of LabVIEW that supports the Quick Drop dialog box, copy QuickDropPanelShortcuts and QuickDropDiagramShortcuts from the existing LabVIEW configuration file and place them in the other LabVIEW configuration file. |
