Setting Undo

Complete the following steps to set the number of actions you can undo or redo.

1. Select Tools»Options to display the Options dialog box.
2. Select Environment from the Category list.
3. Enter a number into the Maximum undo steps per VI text box. The maximum number you can enter is 99. The minimum number you can enter is 1.
4. Click the OK button.

Note  Each VI records its own undo instances. Therefore, the number you enter for Maximum undo steps per VI pertains to each VI. Setting this number low can conserve memory resources.

In some instances, LabVIEW deletes all undo information. VI callers automatically update when the VI changes its front panel. LabVIEW deletes all undo information in caller VIs when you make the following changes:

• Change a VI connector pane pattern or change the data type of a control.
• Change the appearance of a strict data type, change the data type or strictness, or change a type definition of a custom control.
• Change the data type or name of a control in a global VI or add or remove a control to a global VI.

Note  (MathScript RT Module) If a VI contains a MathScript Node, LabVIEW also deletes all undo information when you save or run the VI.
