Use this page of the Package Properties dialog box to create and configure shortcuts for the package. You can create multiple shortcuts for the same file. You must add files to the package build specification before you can create shortcuts for the files.
Note(NI Linux Real-Time) You cannot add shortcuts to a Linux Real-Time package.
This page includes the following components:
Shortcuts—Lists the names of the Windows shortcuts the package creates. Click a name in the list to display and edit shortcut information. Click the buttons under the Shortcuts listbox to add and remove shortcuts from the list.
Add shortcut—Displays the Select Target File dialog box, which you use to select a file in the package for which you want a shortcut.
Remove shortcut—Removes a shortcut from the Shortcuts listbox.
Name—Specifies the name of the shortcut selected in the Shortcuts listbox. If you edit the name, the new name appears in the Shortcuts listbox.
Target file—Specifies the file to which the shortcut points.
Browse target—Displays the Select Target File dialog box, which you use to select a file for the shortcut.
Directory—Specifies the Windows directory where the package creates the shortcut. Refer to the Microsoft Developer Network website at msdn.microsoft.com for more information about the corresponding Microsoft Installer (MSI) properties:
Program Menu— Installs the shortcut in the Start»All Programs menu.
Public Desktop—Installs the shortcut in the Windows desktop folder.
Startup—Installs the shortcut in the Windows startup folder.
Subdirectory—Specifies a subdirectory for the directory specified in Directory. Specify multiple subdirectories by delimiting subdirectory names with a backslash, such as Subfolder1\Subfolder2.
